Terms of service

The service. We restore headlights and taillights at your location. We need lawful access to the vehicle and about six feet of room around the lenses. Some problems can't be fixed by restoration: cracked lenses, moisture inside the housing, and internal damage. If we find them, we tell you before any work begins.

The guarantee

Restored or It's Free. This applies to Full Restoration and Crystal Clear for Life. It does not apply to Basic Restoration, which is priced without it. When we finish, you look at your headlights before you pay, and the call is yours. If you are not satisfied with the restoration, you owe nothing for it.

The guarantee ends at payment. The decision point is before you pay, while we are still there with the car. Once you have paid, the job is accepted and the guarantee is closed. It is not a refund window that stays open afterward, and payment cannot be reversed on the basis of the guarantee later. What continues after payment is the warranty below, which covers the lenses clouding again rather than how the finished job looked on the day.

The warranty

The warranty is different from the guarantee. The guarantee covers the day of the job. The warranty covers the years after it, against the surface we restored hazing or yellowing again.

Full Restoration ($269). 3 years from the date of service. One free re-restoration in any 12 month period, up to 3 in total. If the haze comes back inside the 3 years, call us and we restore the lenses again at no charge. There is no charge for a covered visit, and no trip fee.

Crystal Clear for Life ($369). For as long as you own the vehicle. A free yearly inspection and touch up. One free re-restoration in any 12 month period. "Crystal Clear for Life" is the name of the package. The name is not a promise on its own, and the coverage it carries is exactly what is written here. "For life" means for as long as you own the vehicle we worked on, not the lifetime of the vehicle and not the lifetime of any later owner.

Basic Restoration ($169). None. Basic Restoration is priced as the work on its own. It is the same 3 step restoration as the other two packages, done to the same standard, and it carries no warranty and no Restored or It's Free guarantee. If either matters to you, choose Full Restoration or Crystal Clear for Life instead.

What the warranty does not cover

The warranty covers our work on the lens surface. It does not cover new physical damage, including rock chips, cracks, or collision damage. It does not cover moisture inside a housing whose seal has failed, or internal damage to reflectors, bulbs, or lighting units. It does not cover a lens that someone else has worked on after us.

Transfers

Neither the guarantee nor the warranty transfers. Coverage belongs to the person who bought the service, on the vehicle we worked on. If you sell or trade that vehicle, coverage ends on the day it changes hands. It does not pass to the buyer.

If the business changes hands or closes

These terms are offered by Christopher Sauls, who owns and operates Greater Boston Headlight Restoration, and they depend on the business continuing to operate under him. If the business is sold, transferred, closed, or stops operating, ongoing coverage may change or end. A new owner is not required to honor the yearly inspection or the warranty, and if the business closes there may be no new owner to honor either one. We will tell you if that happens. We cannot promise coverage beyond the life of the business.

Other services

The guarantee and warranty described here apply to the packages named here. Any other service or price we agree with you directly carries only what we state to you in writing at the time, and carries no guarantee or warranty unless we say so in writing.

Payment and scheduling

Payment is due when the job is done. If weather delays us, we reschedule to the next open window at no charge. Questions about these terms: [email protected].
